Your best fit

Choose the size closest to your actual upper chest measurement: 27.75 (31.75, 35.75, 39.25) [42.25, 44.5, 47.5] (50.5, 53.5, 56.6, 59.25) inches / 70.5 (80.5, 91, 99.5) [107.5, 113, 120.5] (128.5, 136, 143.5, 150.5) cm

Upper chest is measured above the full bust, at an angle close to diagonal beneath the underarms, and straight across the back.

Among Petals is designed to fit with approximately 5.25 inches / 13 cm of positive ease at the fullest part of your bust.

If you need additional room for the bust, as Jen does, working the optional short row shaping will give you the best fit in the shoulders and armholes, while still making room for your chest. Short rows add length to the front only of the garment, so that the hem does not rise in the front.

Jen is wearing size 4, Cup 2, with .5 inch / 1 cm of negative ease at the full bust and 2 inches / 5 cm of positive ease at the upper arm. Her upper chest is 41 inches / 102.5 cm and she is 5’8” / 173 cm tall.

Yarn

Sample shown in Camellia Fiber Co CFC Flax Fingering

50% Alpaca, 25% linen, 25% silk; 437 yds / 400 m per 100 g skein. This is a hand-dyed, 3-ply hand-wash yarn. Shown in colorway Clay Dust.

This yarn is delicate with a soft halo, high drape, and has moderate stitch definition. The linen gives the yarn a very gentle rustic stitch texture that contributes to the garment’s beauty.

1285 (1400, 1520, 1665) [1790, 1895, 2030] (2175, 2335, 2455, 2630) yds / 1175 (1280, 1390, 1520) [1635, 1730, 1855] (1990, 2135, 2245, 2405) m; 3 (4, 4, 4) [5, 5, 5] (5, 6, 6, 7) skeins.

For optional bust darts, you will need an additional 20 - 170 yds / 20 - 155 m.
